December 8--Day 154

Perfect day. Well, any day that involves Starbucks is perfect. We cooked dinner with Ray, which was amusing, to say the least. Chicken breasts! Sliced cheese! What strange anomalies! And, we finally showed him our movie. He actually got it; perhaps the first Chinese to understand everything. And he loved it. We got to have a good, long talk about the Book. Perfect day.

December 7--Day 153

Time to kill? Why, of course we head to RT! The outrageously tack Christmas decorations are now in stock, complete with an old Pleasant goat as Santa Claus. We wandered around, watched Chinese movies, and ran into a ton of people we knew! That's when you feel like a native. When you're standing in the aisle of the grocery store, talking to someone you ran into.

December 5--Day 151

Oreos give you energy! And lots of it! Who knew?

December 6--Day 152

Finally made it to the beach with Bridge! And, yes, we went to the beach. In December. I'm so glad we randomly met Bridge at dinner a few months ago. His English was pretty decent; he'd been studying for four months. Absolutely incredible. He's going to bike to France. And, ironically, he's going to Thailand too this Spring Festival. We had cucumbers and tomatoes, which according to Simon, is poisonous. We're not dead yet...   Weak stomach alert: Bridge told us about legislation they had to pass in the next province over, Guangdong,  making it illegal to eat stillborn children. Ancient times? Nope. 2011. It's strange to think of things like that, the things you hear about in third-world countries a hundred years ago mere miles from your home.
