August 2--Day 26

You know that feeling when your students get it? That they do really well with whatever they were supposed to be teaching them? When they nail the assignment? That was today. Best speech so far. Amazing. I’m so proud of them! They all memorized it, well, except for Steven. But he tried! Really hard! And Joker. Joker had his memorized. I could have cried. Frank. Frank actually took it seriously and channeled all that energy into creating something actually great. Of course, the usual good kids did well. But today, they shined. Belinda, Amber, Amanda, Casey, Shelly. Absolute perfection. So proud of them! So some of the students said that they’d had problems showing emotions in their speech. And, since I have to come up with 12 hours of material next week, I thought I’d google about that. Miranda: “Yep. Just google it. How to teach people how to show emotion. Like autistic kids!” On another note, the typhoon is headed it's way. First of the season! The campus is already getting messy, and it hasn't even come. Mary warned us: "Tomorrow, the typhoon will come, and you will fly in the sky." Apparently some men flew out a window last year, so this warning was justified.
