October 3--Day 88

We did a little shopping (which always feels more like exploring) before we met one of our colleagues for lunch. Each of us girls always envies this real-life crown and scepter. I mean, who wouldn't want to wear that? Found an awesome mini car phone and decided to ride in the cars on display for drawings. (We figured it wouldn't do us much good to enter the drawing, since we can't speak or read Chinese.) First time having Japanese food in China! Our colleague, Stephen, is amazing. He's fluent in Chinese, English, and French, and he wants me to more editing work for him. He really tipped the scales of awesomeness when he said he was reading Les Miserables in the original French. Wow. Man, that's cool. Then back to Guilinyang to hang out with our students! Things really heated up in a game of Mafia when both people in the Mafia decided to turn on each other. After several minutes of condemning each other, they suddenly turned their attach toward an innocent bystander. It worked. Everyone else fell for it. Although, I don't know if they really planned all that strategy out... Haha. When Sam found out I liked pool, he freaked out, and we absolutely had to play a few games. Great day. I love these guys.
